WP008 Meadow and Oak Tree In recent years, many people have come to realize the beauty and ecological importance of native grasslands. Groups as diverse as Pheasants Forever, local high schools and even the Michigan Department of Natural Resources have begun to replant native grasses and wildflowers on tracts of public and private land. Not only has this been a boon to wildlife, but it has also provided a great place for people to observe and photograph an ecosystem which once covered a large portion of North America. In this photograph, I tried to capture the color and softness of a meadow on a foggy summer morning.
