North Shore Driftwood
Lake Superior is the largest and wildest of the Great
Lakes. Nowhere is the
character of the lake more evident than along it's
northern shore. The
relentless pounding of the waves and it's legendary
storms have worn it's
granite shores smooth and reduced boulders to cobble,
and cobble to pebbles.
This photograph of driftwood on shoreline granite was
taken near Gargantua
Harbor in Lake Superior Provincial Park in Ontario.
